Growing up near the ocean and spending summers in the cornfields of MN gave me a one-of-a-kind opportunity to spend my time observing animals at play around me. They have so much personality that I feel it is important to illustrate the uniqueness they bring to the world around us.
In order to capture the personalities of my subjects, I pick animated poses, use bright colors, and make lively marks. Sometimes, I feel like I'm still seeing the world through a child's eyes.
